Do you want the inside knowledge of TRA processing times for the Job Ready Program? We have hundreds of clients moving through the program and have a clear understanding of what the current wait times are.

Job Ready Program (JRP) Processing Times - August 2024

Job Ready Program Processing Times - August 2024

Provisional Skills Assessment (PSA) - 4-6 weeks

JRP Step 1 - Job Ready Employment (JRE):

  • It takes approximately 1-2 months for TRA to verify your JRE Application and determine if your employment is eligible for the JRP.

  • It takes approximately 8-9 months after your JRE Start Date (not including prior hours) to become eligible for the JRWA.

6 Month Processing/JRWA Invitation - JRWA invitations open for JRE Start Dates November/December 2023

  • TRA has changed the way that they process applications.

  • Look at your JRE Start Date (not including prior hours). The current processing period open is JRE Start Dates of Nov/Dec 2023.

  • If your JRE Start Date is after these dates (Jan/Feb 2024) you will need to wait.

    • For example, if you started the program in January 2024, you can expect to receive an invitation to the Workplace Assessment in September 2024.

JRP Step 2 - Job Ready Workplace Assessment (JRWA) - 4-5 months

  • Apply for assessment

  • TRA rings you to confirm information (within 4 weeks)

  • Application is passed onto an assessor

  • Assessor contacts you to book the assessment (within 60 days of TRA call)

  • Result is emailed to you 12-14 weeks after the assessment date.

12 Month Processing - Open anyone who did the JRWA in March/April 2024

  • TRA has changed the way that they process applications.

  • If you completed your Workplace Assessment in March or April 2024, you should receive an invitation to the JRFA very soon.

JRP Step 3 - Job Ready Final Assessment (JRFA) - Within 45 days

Because of these extended wait times, it is very important to:

  • Begin your Job Ready Program (JRP) before or soon after receiving your 485 visa.

  • Take limited time off (annual leave, sick leave, personal leave) during the program.

  • Avoid changing employers often as it can cause gaps in employment.
