What are the visa requirements for the Job Ready Program (JRP)?

There are no visa requirements to start the Job Ready Program (JRP). Visas such as Student Visa (subclass 500), Temporary Graduate Visa (subclass 485) or Covid Visa (subclass 408) are all eligible.

Can I do JRP on a Student Visa?

Yes, you can do the Job Ready Program (JRP) while on a Student Visa. In fact, we recommend starting the JRP on a Student Visa. Read here for more information.

How long do I have to complete the Job Ready Program (JRP)?

You have 3 years to complete the Job Ready Program (JRP) from your JRE start date.

Can I go on holidays during the Job Ready Program (JRP)?

Yes, you can go on a holidays during the Job Ready Program (JRP). Email Trades Recognition Australia (TRA) if you are planning to be away on holiday for more than 1 week. For your benefit, ensure your holiday doesn't interfere with your Job Ready Workplace Assessment (JRWA).

How many employers can I have during the Job Ready Program (JRP)?

You can have a total of 5 employers during the Job Ready Program (JRP). You must complete 6 months hours with a single employer and it does not need to be your first employer.

Can I work full-time, part-time or casual for the Job Ready Program (JRP)?

You can have any of the above employment arrangements and successfully complete the Job Ready Program (JRP). If you work less than 38 hours per week, it will take you longer to complete the Job Ready Program (JRP).

Do I still have to do 360 hours for the Provisional Skills Assessment (PSA)?

No, the requirement to show evidence of 360 hours of employment is no longer a requirement of the Provisional Skills Assessment (PSA).
