September 2024 - Job Ready Program (JRP) Processing Times for Trades Recognition Australia (TRA)

Do you want the inside knowledge of TRA processing times for the Job Ready Program? We have hundreds of clients moving through the program and have a clear understanding of what the current wait times are for September 2024.

Job Ready Program (JRP) Processing Times - August 2024

Job Ready Program Processing Times - August 2024

Provisional Skills Assessment (PSA) - 6-8 weeks

JRP Step 1 - Job Ready Employment (JRE):

  • Confirm your JRE Application is eligible (within 30 days of application)

  • Receive invitation for the JRWA (8 months from JRE Start Date, not including prior hour claim). If you are working part-time or less than 38hrs per week, it will take longer to receive the invitation.

6 Month Processing/JRWA Invitation - JRWA invitations open for JRE Start Dates November 2023/December 2023/January 2024

JRP Step 2 - Job Ready Workplace Assessment (JRWA) - 4-5 months

  • Apply for assessment

  • TRA rings you to confirm information (within 15 days of payment)

  • Application is passed onto an assessor

  • Assessor contacts you to book the assessment (within 60 days of TRA call)

  • JRWA Result is emailed to you within 60 days of the report being uploaded to your TRA Portal.

Your successful JRWA outcome email will request you to upload a 12 month Employment Confirmation Form (ECF) with either your most recent payslip or a payslip covering a specific date. Upload this as quickly as you can.

12 Month Processing - Open within 60 days of your JRWA report being uploaded to your TRA portal

  • Once you upload, TRA will invite you to the JRFA within 15-21 days.

JRP Step 3 - Job Ready Final Assessment (JRFA) - 1-8 weeks from payment

Average Job Ready Program Time - 15-18 months

(with processing times)

Because of these extended wait times, it is very important to:

  • Begin your Job Ready Program (JRP) before or soon after receiving your 485 visa.

  • Take limited time off (annual leave, sick leave, personal leave) during the program.

  • Avoid changing employers often as it can cause gaps in employment.
